DEEPER DETAIL ON THE Fluid Highway®

Technical Information

Long Pipes Blue.jpg

In this section we provide more detailed technical information related to the Fluid Highway®. This will be updated following the forthcoming independent testing and certification process.

Thermal expansion rate and co-efficient of friction for internal lining

The thermal expansion rate is comparable to carbon steel or nylon. The Colebrook-White friction factor (k) for polyurethane or nylon is 0.01 mm.

Maximum and minimum installation temperatures

The maximum installation temperature is 65°C and the minimum is -10°C. In very hot conditions the pipe can be produced at night. Once the pipe has cured it is suitable to operate in extreme temperatures from -60°C to +90°C.

UV resistance

The outer layer is a premium quality spread coated PVC using high quality resins, UV stabilisers and fire retardant inhibitors. The material has been exposed to the sun for 10 years and more without any degradation. In the case of fires the material is self-extinguishing.

pressure testing

Each length of pipe manufactured in the production facility for produced water will be pressure tested before leaving the facility.

Flanges

A composite flange to join to Fluid Highway® pipe has been developed.

Data on fatigue, maximum tensile strength in hoop and axial, Poisson's Ratio, Elastic Modulus

This data will be compiled once the independent testing program commences.
